Whatever credibility Sinclair's pre-taped phony Buffalo weather forecast had, got washed away tonight in the huge thunderstorm as Sinclair literally missed it in the Buffalo area.
After a hot day, storms came up from Hamburg along Lake Erie and crashed through Buffalo, with urban flooding warnings put out by the National Weather Service at 10 pm.
But ya wouldn't know it on WB 49's news. At 10:33PM on their weather show that looked like it was taped at maybe 9:45PM or so given the look of the old radar, the weatherman missed all of it, including the serious flash flood warnings.
If the weather had not turned so dangerous, this poor s.o.b.'s weather forecast would have merely looked stupid. As he said "nothing going on downtown"........mother nature sent several big thunder crashes through the downtown area among all of the wind and rain drops.
I thought the plan was that the forecaster could re-tape and send down updated forecasts during serious weather. It sure didn't happen tonight on WB49. What if someone had been injured or drowned after being fooled into thinking the weather was good? Would Sinclair be liable?
Fortunately, people here take the weather pretty seriously....more so than the joker did with his pre-taped Hunt Valley wanna-be pretend Buffalo weather forecast. |
