Why do you think last place stations stay that way.
It's because they keep changing everything every year or two... i.e. no consistency.
Viewers need something to hang on to... familiar faces.
In nearly every market in the country, the dominant station is the one whose anchors, sets, branding have been in place the longest.
And yes it's often the station with overweight, balding anchors... and cheezy graphics.
I grew up watching the Cleveland stations for years (in fact I used to watch Captain Penny!!)... despite it's size, it's a very provincial market... and viewers like familiarity and consistency.
So don't fall into "the only constant is change" trap. |

I loved you. You left us too soon. Anyway, Bob, did you take the outfit out of the closet and wear it yet?
I think Denise is good. Galeti a news anchor? Good sports guy, wouldn't want my news from him.
Hey, if the other stations are stilling story ideas from them, they must be headed in the right direction.
But anyway... Someone please answer who they think the best weekend newscasters are, and where is Brad Harvey>?
