Oh please. Newscasts are packed. What does it hurt to offer a place for viewers to go for more information?
What does it hurt to take credit for the 4-month investigation you did?
Yes, there are some stations that go overboard - but branding is not in opposition of good journalism.
It is just a tiny piece of the puzzle. Remember, if no one is watching your great stories - no one is getting a paycheck.
Just put on a great newscast, let viewers know it - and stop complaining about everything that has changed in your 20 years in the biz. I bet you guys had real trouble with "color" when it first came in too.
