I think Ron was there when Jeff Pilot got sucked up by the Chubb Group. Chubb wanted bigger margins. The only way they could hit those margins was by unloading people. Particularly those making substantial salaries. This is not in defense of anyone, but the Chubb tactic drained the talent pool. They've never recovered the viewers. Who knows about the margins? |

Jeff pilot sucked up the Chubb group not the other way around. The real impact on WBTV was that former head of Chubb (with zero experience) became head of Jeff Pilot Communications. Ron could definitely be seen as someone who was "unloaded". Only in Ron's case by the time he left he really didn't have any function. He was called the "Station Manager" but with a new GM in place he had little or no responsibility.
