you double/triple your work force so that you have crew everywhere standing by to cover news events. And even then, don't expect the process to be expeditious. It's hard enough for a reporter/photog in the field to work a story. Imagine how draining and how slow a one-man band set-up is going to work out. It won't take KRON's management long to see that this is a bad idea. I wonder if KRON is going to double reporter salaries for doing the job of two people?

Small hand held DV cameras and laptop edits will totally change the newsroom and the way news is made. KRON should be applauded for having the courage to take the first steps into the future. This is going to happen everywhere. Its cheaper and its better. This revolution has already taken hold in Europe and its going to happen here as well. Get ready to see lots of other stations going this way.
