There are actually three people in the sports office. One is a full-time sports photographer. The weekend guy will be expected to shoot also. There is alot to cover in Omaha. There are the Huskers, Creighton, UNO plays D-2 football but D-1 hockey. The Calgary Flames are bringing in a minor league team. KETV as an ABC affiliate covers alot of Husker football games (assuming they start winning again) and the sports guys do pregame and postgame shows. The station is a great place to work and it's in a battle with WOWT. As for pay, I would guess in the 30's with OT. It might depend on experience. I'm not aware of any front runners. The former #3 guy is now the KETV's Consumer Reporter and I don't think he would go back to sports. Get those tapes in soon. Sean leaves after the College World Series and Schuetz is going to need help in August with the start of football season. |

I also wanted to mention that whatever your preconceived notion of Omaha, Nebraska is, throw it out. It is not flat with corn everywhere. It's hilly and green with lots of trees (except in West O) and the city is growing. You will be surprised. I was.
