I've noticed some news directors get real nervous when somebody in the newsroom has it going on with money, whether through an independent sideline business enterprise or something else. But before you file the cease & desist, why not contact the news director and ask him to quit badmouthing you. As a reporter I learned a long time ago that before you take out after somebody, it's best to approach that person first, and get his/her side of the story. You'd be surprised how often that approach ends up improving your understanding of what's going on, and sometimes you even learn you were operating under a misunderstanding. |

That sounds reasonable. Call the ND and then his boss.
And then call a lawyer. Without suing, a simple letter to the coportate chieftons might do the trick. they'll clamp down on the fella.
