One of the most successful recording artists of all time is charged with sexually assaulting young boys and you think no one in America is interested? Or cares? Perhaps some of you self-righteous posters need to "get a clue".
This is a major story. Child molestation is a serious problem and if a major celebrity is convicted of this crime against nature I cannot imagine why you wouldn??t find this story important. Don't get sucked into the "another celebrity gone bad" syndrome. This isn't a jealous husband stabbing his wife or a husband accused of shooting his gold digging wife. This is a crime that must be enforced to the maximum. No amount of celebrity should excuse his actions if he is guilty. And if he isn??t guilty, then whatever may have been left of a highly successful career is over. How is that not news?
There, I said my piece. Now go tell all the young boys in your neighborhood that you really don't care if a rich and successful man decides to molest them. It's just not news.

is quite simple.... the News Business is driven by ratings because that drives revenue.
Therefore, if the NUMBERS didn't reflect people were watching Jacko, believe me, it wouldn't get the play that it does.
The Numbers don't show people watching Darfur...
The Numbers don't show people watching N.Korea...
The Numbers don't show people
watching good, compelling impactful stories...
Don't believe me -- go ahead, produce a month of "good" stories on your local newscasts -- ignore Jacko, the Blonde Murders, etc... and
I bet you $5 you'll be at home updating your resume because you have just been fired!
