I didn't do anything illegal.
Now, has anyone used any kind of method like I was talking about to keep their News Director from saying hurtful and untruthful comments?

If your going to go the legal route, you're not getting any expert advice from all of us news employees. Spend your time with someone who really knows the legal rules, and get a lawyer.
If you're just an angry ex-employee trying to figure out a clever way to get back at your old boss, then get a life.
