Recently the use of time delayed live shots has increased. Just the other day I was watching FOX NEWS cover a high-speed chase in LA for almost two and a half hours. (Why they carried the event ??LIVE?? for that long without commercial break until Studio B escapes me.)
FNC had their graphic as ??LIVE?? but kept telling viewers everything was delayed. It was extremely confusing for the anchors as they would be ??calling the plays?? as they unfolded, but viewers wouldn??t see the action until 5-second later.
How do you feel about breaking news that is delayed? Should networks still carry their ??LIVE?? flag? Personally, I have mixed thoughts. Were do we draw the line? Is this censorship in your mind?
