Let me answer some questions.
No I didn??t steal money, I'm not letting out what I did...because as washbourne said... "it will let my former news director know who I am".
It is not a firing offense or anything illegal. It's as minor as you can get..and my co-anchor did the same thing on the same day. It happens everyday in this country.
Yes, the bad news director and my boss are one and the same.
He was fired from my old station and he has the same job in another market now. He??s not hard to find. This is a small business.
I do have proof of this. I??ve already done the reference check thing with one of those companies. I have him on tape ripping me big time. He added to the person on the phone ?? I definitely would check him out??
It??s not what he says; it??s the anger in his voice that shoots me down as a candidate. This recording is also a legal document in his state and the state of his former employer.
I do have another job right now but it??s not in Television news and this is my passion. I really have a good tape and do a good job. But, people are getting the wrong story from this man.
I know his personality and he enjoys maligning me. The people on my reference sheet who worked with him can vouch for this.
As washbourne says ..I don??t think I have much to lose by doing cease-and-desist. This is not a nice man..like I said he didn??t talk to me or look me in the eye for a year after this incident. And he treated many others the same way. I don??t really think I can make him any angrier than he already is.
Newsescapee..actually I never mentioned my relationship with my former news director in past interviews or on the phone unless they asked me about him. Just recently a news director did say ??What do you think ___ ____ will say about you. I said, well we didn??t see eye to eye..I don??t think you??ll get a good reference from him. That news director didn??t invite me up for an interview. I do have people on my reference sheet down at the bottom of the page that can vouch for this man??s hatred for me. I keep another news director and a GM at the top of the page.
Any other suggestions ?
