Got a call from a ND in Sac. CA.
Not interested in a summary of the stations.
I am more interested in what its like to live and work there. (as a reporter)
Whats the starting salary for GA reporter?
Apartment costs?
Nightlife?
Culture?
Any young people?
Can you make a good jump from there?

for a reporter. You pry won't get paid more than 40K, and the cost of living is skyhigh these days, but there is a lot to do. You're close to SF, Tahoe and the weather is mild. The downtown nightlife isn't bad at all. There have been quite a few reporter jumps from here to SF. Especially now that Viacom owns KOVR, I imagine a lot of folk will go on to KPIX. The only station I would steer clear from would be KMAX. Although I guess I would also steer clear from KOVR until the dust settles.
