The station lost it's viewer
base by neglect and mismanagment of ON-THE-AIR personalities. Letting go of household names who made the program watchable and endearing was disasterous...(not speaking of "clown" or 'just stepped out of the surgeon's office' hires either!)
Behind the scenes people, be it writers, executive directors, producers and general managers matter very ...VERY little to the people who PAY the bills:
THE TELEVISION VIEWERS THEMSELVES.
The only way this station, will survive - let alone get stronger - is to capture the cast of New York City characters who once dominated, power-promoted and seemingly "liked" working together. It spilled over into tv living rooms all over this city everyday.
It will be a daunting task for the "behind the scene" executive to sensably "execute" a successful news program.

The station is listless since he got here. Neil was their last, best, hope. But he wouldn't take any crap from the malcontents and see where it got him. The place needs a housecleaning.
