In an industry that hires and fires people as much as a working model changes clothes, being good at what you do is but one of many considerations that decide whether you're in the money or on the beach, and it isn't necessarily the deciding factor. My gosh, look at the spinning turnstyle that is CNN. Think about all the folks that place has put out on the street over the years. Some were great, others not so good, but what did it matter? The sun rises and sets on the skilled and unskilled alike. Good luck.
