I think not. Call it an education, if you will, for those thinking of coming to NBC-17. My advice: DON'T. I wish I had that advice when I got my job there. Sadly, I made that mistake, learned from it, and moved on. Yes, like anywhere, there are hard working individuals for whom the badmouthing is never intended. But let's face it, NBC/GE ignores the little station that can't, and will continue to ignore it. Mike Ward destroyed the news image, destroyed lives, and continues to haunt the place. Numbers are numbers and can be skewed in countless ways. But look, really LOOK at what they are doing, and you see why NBC-17 gets no respect here in town, or anywhere else. They can't even get a live shot from WITHIN the city of Durham, without using their sat truck. Is GE spending money to fix THAT problem? They haven't yet. True to earlier postings, the station makes a lot of money for GE, but rarely does that money get turned back into the station. And who in the hell said no attitudes and primadonnas? Apparently you haven't worked with one of the weekend anchors, or, if you have, you don't mind someone else doing your job. Apparently you don't mind getting screamed at as if you were a four year old. There is potential on Front Street, but they need to start reaching that potential by dumping one of the weekend anchors, (you figure it out) the set needs to be updated, and the attitudes (of some employees and posters to this board) need to change. I get more of my news from WB 22 than I do from NBC-17. Yikes!
