Some agents are very unethical, frighteningly so. Willinger is one of them. It's unfortunate people like can continue to prey on unsuspecting people. I can't warn people enough about him.
The best thing to do is ask around the newsroom/market and see who the people you trust recommend. You'll find the same names come up over and over, just as Ezra did in this thread.
Another good idea is to ask your former news directors for recommnedations.
An agent with a bad reputation can hurt your ability to get hired.
ND's know how agents talk about their clients when they're not around. They are also aware of shady negotiating practices you would never know about. |

Helen Shabason. Not because she's unethical, but if she's as irritable and morose with NDs/Producers as she is with her clients it's a wonder anyone makes any moves under her.
