Topic Name: Internship Message Name: My Advice Date Posted: 06/07/2005 Message: The best advice I ever got: "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. " I once knew a guy who started out as a photographer and wore a shirt and tie EVERYDAY even in the 90+ degree heat of the South. He ended up second in charge of the newsroom. Skills and work ethic had a lot to do with it, of course; but management also said they were always impressed with his professionalism...including his dress.
