The station is slowly slipping in the ratings, they've just launched a new hour-long show (remember the days of "all the news you need in 30 minutes"?) -- that's a lot of pressure. If the people in the newsroom are sending in their actual opinions about the story -- then what's wrong with that? It's a "viewer" opinion. I am sure those writers are watching the newscast from their desk. |

has got to be kidding. If the news director is really encouraging staff to "write in" to keep an opinion segment alive, that's one of the most pathetic things i've heard in a long time. he or she should be slapped down hard by the GM, and i mean as quickly as possible.
