and the reporter/writer is the final content editor.
But both should work together.
If the writer producer is not writing in the style of the anchor...
that's the writers fault.
On issues of content, anchors need to check with the reporter or writer to clarify content or context.
Both are critical.

a producer should write & format to the best of his or her ability. They also should not be expected to write to the anchor's style, that IMO is BS. Is a producer expected to know every preference/nuance/habit of each anchor, I really don't think that's fair.
Anchors can change it to fit their style when they pre-read the copy. If they don't pre-read it, they can't comment about it later.
For the record, I'm an anchor not a producer. And for thisplacerocks, writing about 'wordy' copy is somewhat ironic isn't it?
