In Reply To: This story was on the wires, in the newspaper and on all 3 TV stations. Who ignored it? I agree it should have been handed over as "Brady" material, but I also know the case was investigated thoroughly and there was no evidence these rednecks did anything illegal. While these guys were under surveillance, the murders continued.
Message: The file on the KKK is considered part of the "Brady material." The State had a legal obligation to give it to the defense. The jury had a need and a right to hear that evidence. The actual validity of the evidence is not the question here. The fact is, there is more "Brady" material which the State witheld from the defense. This includes police reports on at least one other victim who spent time in the home of a convicted sex offender. Now, a federal judge wants to view this material. Material that the State may have, long ago, destroyed. Also, per your earlier rants about "Williams being seen with at least five victims:" In one of those cases, the witness testified to seeing Williams with a victim after that victim was dead! In another case, a witness recanted her testimony about seeing Williams with a victim. Finally, as for that "slapstick" allegedly found in the ceiling of Williams' bedroom: The State NEVER introduced any weapons in it's case against Williams.
