A few real points to ponder here. Yes there are injustices in this world... yes we are a lot better off than in 1950- thankfully or I wouldn't be working on television.
But let's be real... there are still way to many African-American men on tv in handcuffs and not enough coverage of people of color with real issues. There are missing people everyday - and yes there is an overabundance of coverage of non-minorities. That's why I got into this business - to fight on some level for a fair playing ground. No things aren't as bad as they were... and hell no, they aren't as good as they could be. We could bitch all day, but facts are facts. |

You must be joking. Many people..including some extreme liberals get in this business to try to make some sort of social statement. You know how many really do?????Zero.
This business is not about trying to change the world. If you want to do that then make movies..join the Peace Corps, volunteer at a homeless shelter. This business is about telling stories and reporting the facts.
Here are some facts for you; FBI statisticians have extrapolated information to reveal that blacks, as 13.9 percent of the overall population, commit more than 46 percent of the crimes in the United States.
Statistically, blacks are more than 16 times more likely to commit a crime (per capita) than whites.
In other words they??re in cuffs on TV more because they are getting arrested more than whites.
If you intend to fight on some playing ground to change America??s perception of this, then you??re actually stretching the truth.
I??m so sick of people talking about prisons being overcrowded with blacks, yah..because they??re committing more crimes. Should we just let them go?
Newsman2??what have you been able to do, show more white kids stealing bubble gum cards than black kids capping somebody who had a cross word with them.
That makes you a bigot and you border on being a racist.
I hope you never work in my newsroom. Maybe you should apply to BET..that way you can start every story with the line
