You need a historical reference point to know why WXIA has always made the wrong decisions at the wrong time. Jill Becker works the morning show and before she got some age on her she commanded the desk nicely back in the day. But, this station has made many mistakes in the past..like.
Hiring Gun Carrying ND Ron Belik ??..Firing Anchorman John Pruitt.
Hell, I??m old enough to remember their sports guy back in the day claiming he would get on a motorcycle and make a 30 foot jump at the annual Motocross race at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. I think his name was Steve Summers..that was a bad day in that station??s history.
With a history of bad moves and losers from the parent company running the show..don??t be surprised if they make the wrong move here again.
The wrong move would be to let Walt get away. He??s good at what he does..and he rates high with the viewers. The wrong move would be to let Wes sign on for a long term deal. I grew up watching Wes but he??s old school. Let him fade off in the sunset. But don??t be surprised if this station makes yet another bad decision.

Thanks, ready. I've only been in ATL a short time and didn't realize some of the things you remember so vividly. And here I thought Pruitt had been on WSB since God was young. We are in agreement on Walt -- he could be their future, and Wes is their elder statesman.
I like Jill Becker, period -- she's just a pro. The one person in town I don't get is the middle-aged blonde woman who does noon (also morning?) on WSB, who has the most perfect makeup imaginable -- for 1966. Scary that she hasn't updated her look in decades, apparently. Monica looks so great, but the 1966 woman just looks painfully dated -- so much that it's a distraction.
