...and 11 is usually my channel of choice (WSB second). If they lose Walt they are shooting themselves in the foot -- I could easily see a Walt/Brenda team -- would bring more energy than Wes and Brenda. They have some good talent and, for me, the most watchable morning show, though weekend mornings are often less polished than one might expect. And the best weekend meteorologist (Chris grew on me and now I think he's their strongest).
I have zero inside knowledge of the shop, but I do feel their reporter corps is uneven -- I have no idea who the post above is referring to, and I don't care -- just want to see more solid reporting on the air from people with something between their ears.

You need a historical reference point to know why WXIA has always made the wrong decisions at the wrong time. Jill Becker works the morning show and before she got some age on her she commanded the desk nicely back in the day. But, this station has made many mistakes in the past..like.
Hiring Gun Carrying ND Ron Belik ??..Firing Anchorman John Pruitt.
Hell, I??m old enough to remember their sports guy back in the day claiming he would get on a motorcycle and make a 30 foot jump at the annual Motocross race at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. I think his name was Steve Summers..that was a bad day in that station??s history.
With a history of bad moves and losers from the parent company running the show..don??t be surprised if they make the wrong move here again.
The wrong move would be to let Walt get away. He??s good at what he does..and he rates high with the viewers. The wrong move would be to let Wes sign on for a long term deal. I grew up watching Wes but he??s old school. Let him fade off in the sunset. But don??t be surprised if this station makes yet another bad decision.
