Nelson did a good job on the air, but the helicopter coverage was frustrating and poor.
Channel 9 appeared to be the weakest.
There's not another helicopter team in the market that is any better than Channel 4's. Channel 4's helo team always seems to be in the right place at the right time showing you the right video and the best scenes.
Channel 31's helicopter pilot won't fly if there is more than two clouds in the sky. This is where the experience of flying in Colorado shows. Channel 7's pilot and Channel 4's pilot know their stuff!
Channel 2: Did they even know about the storm? |

I visited Denver this past week. On the storm coverage, I think 7's Nelson did a very good job, and has the best looking WX Center and presentation in the market, if not the country. 9's new "HD" set and presentation is downright comical, and lacks a serious WX presence, same goes for 4, didn't watch 2's coverage. I agree with the last post regarding helicopter coverage.
My overall impression is that 7 takes weather allot more seriously than the other stations in the market, which for a city as weather prone as Denver is, surprised me. I'm not sure of all the history behind the weather talent swapping, but 7 seems to own weather now in Denver, IMO.
