duh, it depends on the station
generally.. a lower cachet and pay than network affils
but you may be able to find a good situation at some affils
when it comes to big indies that lost their network affiliations, KTVK Phoenix has prospered, WJXT Jacksonville is doing adequately, and KRON is flat-lining in San Fran
the former "indies" that now have the lower-tier networks in the biggest markets like NY or LA are distinctly less important than local network affils, but sometimes exchange staffers with the Big 3 and may find some success with alternative morning shows |
