it is better to lead with things like the westchester kid graduation thing and the CBS producer who got slapped by Burt Reynolds because they are #3 and at least it is something that isn't seen elsewhere
also, it is LOCAL - a lot of stations are using national stories as leads & high up even when they are of marginal importance and not their primary mission as a local station
i don't know about thinking viewers are stupid... things like "eat at your own risk" and "shame on you" are a little simplistic, but are good TV & at least make some difference.
i would like to see more solid investigative work but at least they are trying to get into this area. they are surely not worse than the other stations. they do some of the generic "news you can use" type stuff that I don't much care for, but it pulls people in the tent and WABC is the major offender in this category

Arnold Diaz's reports are by far the crown jewel of the station.
The deuce needs to have some more strong franchises. "Eat at Your Own Risk" isn't cutting it. The reports offer viewers nothing but year old health records. Kirstin Cole's other franchise "Your 2 Cents" has a lot of potential. I also think the "CBS-2 Investigates" has some promise. The stories seem to have improved now that both Ti-Hua and Cherly are reporting.
Overall kudos to Diaz, Cole, Chang, and Fiandaca.
Here's to hoping that channel 2 continues to give this talented bunch the chance to showcase their fresh stories. To me this is one of the best ways channel 2 can rise above all this negative stigma.
Just "My 2 Cents"
