"Gombey", what are you doing now with your MBA? I'm seriously thinking about going to school for my MBA, but it's a big $$ commitment.
Any advice? |

I never finished. I was going to school on the GI Bill after returning from Vietnam. About halfway through the program, I transferred to another station in a much larger market, with a corresponding large increase in pay.
Folks asked me, "Are you going to finish your MBA?" I told them I had been going to school to get a better job, and now that I had a better job, I didn't need it.
The fact is, the new management job consumed all my time the first couple of years and there was no way I could have gone to school at the same time.
I have sometimes regretted not finishing, because it has been a barrier to getting some teaching jobs. But I did manage to work as a college broadcasting teacher at two different colleges - just could never get hired full time if I wanted it.
Advice? Education is always valuable. I am in my 50s and still learning. Go for it, because it opens a lot of doors that otherwise won't be there for you.
