Silly question maybe, but I just got back from an assignment where we travelled out West to cover a local delegation at a big convention.)
Station of course paid for flight/lodging/rental car...even gave us a company credit card for meals.
My question:
On two of the days we worked 12-hour days...non-stop.
So, do we mark down that we worked 12-hour days?
I say yes; my photog says no (she says that because the station is paying...and that it's a privilege to travel...that those 12-days should be considered as "normal" working days.)
Who's right? |

I worked as a news director and station manager for many years. The answer to this question is always the same:
Put down the actual hours you worked.
It is up to you and the manager to work out any arrangements for overtime or time off, but always, always put down the actual hours you worked.
Thank you. And good night.
