I know bitching on these boards is the fashionable thing to do, but nobody really cares - all of us (reporters & anchors) are in the same boat.
When you accepted your job at whatever station you're at now, and you knew that you'd get to travel around for stories, and work long hours covering big news - you could probably care less that your opportunities for overtime were small - if even that.
We all are in a field we love, and when you do it long enough, you pay your dues so that the workload is much less than it used to be. So when a station that gave you your last promotion or whatever asks you to work some longer hours, and only repays the favor with a comp day or whatever, suck it up! A few years ago, you probably would have killed to be in the position you're in now!
