Or--more likely--are you in TV news management?
Either way, you're wrong.
From the time you walk into your station to gather notebooks or camera gear, to the time it takes to go through airport security, to the time you drop your bags in your econo-hotel...that's all on the clock.
As for traveling work being a privilege...ask the guys who work at Newspath, Fox News Edge and the like. The clock never lies. |

I covered american Idol one year - fun gig right? Yes and No. We worked our arses off. We also put down the hours. Now, when we got back we took tha Friday off which gave us some much needed time off and also gave the station a break. They asked us before we left to try to keep the ot down to 4 hours a day! Other than that.....you put down the hours. We don't work for free people.
