I agree with the above post that local coverage can generate viewers as well as income for a station. But how do you convience a hesitant ND or GM for that matter? I work in a top 25 and we only get 1:30 during the week and 3 on the weekends. |

All it wil take is one station in a major market to drop local sports and they will all fall like dominoes. Local sports in bigger markets have become irrelevant and will be the first to go down. Enjoy your employment while you can.
