Silly question maybe, but I just got back from an assignment where we travelled out West to cover a local delegation at a big convention.)
Station of course paid for flight/lodging/rental car...even gave us a company credit card for meals.
My question:
On two of the days we worked 12-hour days...non-stop.
So, do we mark down that we worked 12-hour days?
I say yes; my photog says no (she says that because the station is paying...and that it's a privilege to travel...that those 12-days should be considered as "normal" working days.)
Who's right? |

... put in for them. I think everyone in this business knows that while traveling is cool, it also means a lot of work. They didn't send you on a vacation. they sent you to do a job. Unless you work for PBS, you work for a for-profit business. No charity work here, you deserve to be paid for the work you did.
