In Reply To: I agree with hl-79, but problems are resurfacing. They led last night's newscast with an "exclusive update" about that Poughkeepsie girl who was barred from graduating high school. That was a very poor choice for a leading segment. Also, these new graphics they're phasing in are terrible. They showed some new OTS type of thing that essentially covered 3/4 of the screen, leaving Roz Abrams to the very far right.
Message: What's the old saying those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Back in the 90s one of the all time blunders in local TV news took place at WCBS when a handful of anchors were all let go at the same time. Anyone remember the famous "Anchors Away" headline? Unfortunately that incident continues to be repeated to this day. hl-79 - viewers don't care who's behind the scenes, but they do care who's in front of the camera. And it's been a revolving door the last few years with many familiar faces disappearing under the current administration (everyone from David Diaz and Morry Alter to Ira Joe Fisher and Warner Wolf) You can't blame the Early Show and the View for that. Regardless of all the spin at the end of the day WCBS is still #3 and sometimes #4 in the ratings.
