went on to graduate study in journalism after your BA? Do you recommend it? Is it even necessary today? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I got my bachelor degree in journalism and attended graduate school about eight years later to work on my MBA.
Business School opened a lot of doors that revealed things I had never contemplated. It was a tremendous help, even though I moved to another news job in a distant market before finishing.
I think graduate work in journalism is fine if you want to do research or teach. You don't need it to work in the field, and it will not pay you more or help you get a job.
