WCBS's approach to local news sucks stale shit. The only thing missing is Jim Ryan -- and I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up as a refugee in the next few weeks.
I remember when Roz Abrams used to be a pretty respectable anchor; today, her pseudonews directors at WCBS force her to preview upcoming segments with the insipid "You won't believe what..." and "Wait until you see who..." phraseology you'd expect from Entertainment Tonight.
Note to WCBS: if you ever want to regain your ratings, stop treating viewers like idiots. We're goddamn sick of it -- and pretty damned miffed that we have to settle for the fascists over at WGE... er, WNBC for something that bears even a remote resemblance to local news.
