had to pay for their own equipment like other professionals do, they would have to be paid like "other professionals are paid". BTW commissioned officers do pay for their own uniforms now! |

And I'm not just talking about the noncoms, either.
There is something seriously cheneyed up about a culture and society that doesn't pay soldiers and teachers a quarter of what they deserve.
