I just watched CNN's piece on their broadcasting live from Bagdhad during the first Gulf War. Now, let me be clear on this, it was remarkable work, and should be honored... but in their piece they repeatedly said it was the first time someone had broadcast live from a war zone.
It seems to me they are about 40 years late... wasn't Murrow the first, broadcasting from rooftop during the bombing of London?
I get that CNN is a pioneer, and deserve props... but they need to remember there was news before they signed on... |

The producer of that segment likely never heard of Ed Murrow.
"This.... is London!"
Hype aside, CNN changed the way we get our news forever.
They pioneered something, and as nutty as Ted Turner was, and is, he was a visionary.
