In Reply To: I love the posts claiming "we built cnn." Who are you Jefferson Starship?
Message: It's no joke, the people that were there from 80-87 (techwood before Omni) really built the place. They paid us minimum wage, we worked 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Most of us were right out of college. We lived together in houses in Atlanta to keep living costs low. We had no real "star" anchors. The CNN of today - the big sets, high priced talent, great graphics - none of it would have been possible without some kid spending his Sunday working for $3.35 an hour back in 1982. Ask anybody, including Ted Turner himself. So if you worked during that time, I think you have a legit claim that you helped make CNN a success. Those people may be forgotten now, but without them there would be no CNN today.
