OK, I'm just looking to do a little fun charting and comparison here. What kind of hardware and software do your graphics departments use on a daily basis.
Even if you're not a part of the Graphics team, chime in on what you know.
My station uses all Macs (OS X) running the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) along with Curious Maps as our mapping program.
I am just interested to see how different or similiar news staions around the country are.
I have only personally visited 6 stations in three different markets and found 5 of the 6 use Macintosh machines and over half of them use Adobe applications.
Let me know what it is you dress up your shows with! Photoshop, Liberty Paint, Quantel, etc. PowerMacs or PCs?
Thanks for taking part in my little poll! |

We're a medium market station (92) and use Macs running OS X for a quarter of our graphics. Programs we run are mainly after effects 6.5 and Photoshop CS. Currently the main air gfx are run using Infinit, Maxine, and CGS Ticker system. For OTS's and speciality gfx, Quantel Q-Paint Pro, Picturebox, and Paintbox are used. We're currently looking into the Duet Hyper X to update our air gfx since Chyron no longer supports service contact on Infinit Family. We use 20 pc's from the newsroom in a render net for any 3D gfx for promotion or commercial material.
