The troops at WDIV are curious about the visiting Skip Valet. At first they weren't sure about his leadership, but after Thursday's 5, they're likin' this dude. The guy had the instinct and the gonads to lead the newscast with high quality local news. He then took it one step further and blew out all the commercials in the first half hour. Viewers could grasp the details and import of the story without any interruption. Is this man Katherine Graham Jr.? Post Newsweek employees in Motown haven't seen this kind of commitment to journalism - and risk taking -since the grand dame herself gave the go ahead to publish The Pentagon Papers, and back Woodward and Bernstien investigating the leader of the free world. What a refreshing change Skip is from the Post Newsweek-lings who allow greed to guide and journalistic guts and ethics be damned.

Skip is my news director in Orlando, and I knew he would blow them away in Detroit... I just hope the "Powers that Be" don't think he's too great of a fit up there... WE WANT HIM BACK!!!!!
