To summarize the situation and to clear up any lingering confusion...
Gramer arrived at KGW in August 1998. Give Rausch credit for bringing KGW back into the game during the mid 1990s, but KGW was never #1 during Rausch's reign. In fact, one of Rausch's final moves before his departure was to move NBC News w/Brokaw from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, thus creating a 90-minute local news block from 5:00-6:30pm. Ratings floundered, Rausch left, Gramer arrived, and a year later the format was switched back (and remains in place today). Fast forward another year... to 2000... when KATU and KOIN fumbled big. That's when KGW slid into first.
That's your history reminder (or lesson, for many of you). |

This is a Dan Salamone discussion. All this KGW
stuff is boring me to tears...Rausch, Gramer, Please! I could care less about them or their accomplishments...take it elsewhere. Let's hear more about the BIG 6!
