Actually, his positions sound very much like conservative/libertarian Mike Mazur, who argues that soldiers should pay for their own equipment and uniforms in the same manner that other professionals do. The tax savings would be enormous. |

had to pay for their own equipment like other professionals do, they would have to be paid like "other professionals are paid". BTW commissioned officers do pay for their own uniforms now!
