In Reply To: I know what you mean. I always worked in Atlanta, but I went through the union thing. It was really my undoing to a degree. They WERE rabid anti-union and still are I guess. I was never really forgiven for my support of NABET. Later, when I thought about it, I realized that we were trying to convince people that they were blue collar workers when they did not think of themselves as such. So they did not think they needed a union. But CNN's behavior was the worst, and many suffered. That said, they DID finally pay better but again you are correct - they dumped people later when they got old and made too much money. It's a rough business, and CNN was a political place. I saw a lot of good people get chewed up and spit out. Still, as xcnn said, if you were there in the early days as we were you can still take pride in your work. We did build CNN, and CNN has made a big impact on news and media in general. Don't be too bitter. CNN still can do good stuff. But all ex-cnn are in the same boat I think - Ted Turner included. We are on the outside looking in, and that can be a good thing.
Message: i worked in radio news and was always promised this and that when the company did better. this was a little 'mom and pop' corporation. at all corporations it's all about money.
