but over the years, and working with MANY,MANY EP's and managing editors, i've found the vast majority of them have a good sound journalistic reason for making the changes they make..and it can NEVER hurt to ask why they did it..as i said previously, make it a learning experience.. |

..and listen carefully. Some EPs are brilliant, and can make a good story great by simply changing one word.
Others know the company's style better than you do, and even if they like your script, they still have to give the entire newscast a certain unity of tone, if not on message, then on style.
And then there are jerks. Just put up with them; they won't ruin your day.
