It doesn't take that much to get your first gig but 9 times out of 10 you'll need to move unless you are connected to the hilt or just happen to have a family member who is a news boss. Maybe you are just waiting to have it handed to you on a silver platter. That most likely won't happen in this business. You have to go out and get what you want. I wouldn't take another AP job if you really want to report.
