In Reply To: Used to respect Fishman; can't stand him now. How can anyone bear to work on such a clunker of a show? Feinstein should get out from under his shadow and go somewhere where her potential will be fed, not ignored. I haven't seen anything memorable from her, perhaps because I can't click away fast enough. A former producer told me Hal was AWFUL to his coanchors -- and this was decades ago. You'd think he'd have learned by now.
Message: to George Putnam, who was not the brightest bulb in the business. Hal had to bail him out for years, and I think that once he got the anchor seat, he was determined not to lose an inch to anyone, ever. Yes, I worked with him. I think he liked me, and thus I was hired, but the rundown always read, "Hal, Hal, Hal, girl, girl, Hal, Hal during just about every segment, no matter who anchored with him. He also always had to have the last word, even when it was a bit lame. Jeff Wald has always been a nothing, Hal puppet. The placed has always been weird, never a 'real' newsroom in the way other top two newsrooms are. It was a great break for me, but I would have been committed by now if I'd stayed.
