That's what people like about him...he's so human he'll even defend himself on a tv news internet gossip board. Viewers like the fact he comes off like one of them. He's not some glamour girl or gallant guy. He's just a regular guy there slugging it out with the bad guys who are trying to pull one over on the little guy. Viewers love him. And they remember him. I dare say most viewers can't tell any of the other "investigative" reporters apart. Most viewers can't name them. But they all know Steve Wilson. The man has made a positive impression with viewers. All the other reporters and their bosses are jealous. |

Actually reading this whole string of messages is depressing...I'm sure there are pluses and minuses about Wilson like any other reporter (although I am not a fan of making yourself the main facet of the story)but to hear this simplistic talk of "bad guys" and that somebody is immune from any kind of critique because he's fighting the good fight...It's nonsense...We should expect and strive for better in our medium, especially in investigative and stop doing this bread and circuses nonsense for the public...Hell, look at what's happened in the past 5 years..What we DO NOT report on and what we DO...and the whole time our country and our planet are descending into crisis. Think I'm just being 'chicken little'? That's fine, unfortunately I'm fairly certain it will become very clear in the next 5 to 15 years. In short: we're failing to tell the public things they really need to know about so they can act NOW because we're doing entertainment.
