A deeply silly Byron Pitts pkg last night comparing the treatment of Danica Patrick and Dan Wheldon post-Indy 500 included a sound bite with a woman saying of Patrick "she's friggin' awesome!"
Um... is "friggin'" now an appropriate word for broadcast TV? Perhaps I'm a bit behind the times but it struck me as really out of place. |

But stnadards are changing. I remember a call to a radio newsroom I was working in (back in the '70s...yes...the '70s)by a woman angry at our airborne traffic reporter for calling the traffic situation at a particular intersection "screwed up." My how times have changed.
