I applaud the die hard News 8 defender. News 8 does great work considering the staff is overworked with less experience than their counterparts. Still, there are hardly any viewers. So what if one of the broadcast stations copies a story first seen on cable 8? As soon as K-EYE,VUE,TBC,XAN pick up the story it will be the first time an audience actually watches. There are a few good people busting their rears, the rest are below average, yet still busting their rears.
News 8 still gets no ratings so what is the point in arguing in favor of them? |

Calm down, sport.
Not saying Bell County and Ft Hood aren't important. But you're an AUSTIN news outlet, not a WACO one. Those viewers only count in the Waco Temple Killeen market -- the other Austin stations aren't competiting for them. And honestly, no one in Waco considers News 8 competition. In fact if you ask most people in Bell County what News 8 is, they'll you WFAA out of Dallas, which has been on cable up there for years.
Like I said, stick to Austin news.
