Whew! That last post wore me out! You been savin' all that for a while? Had to spew it all out?
Needless to say - like your style. I agree with you: hang on to your hats, KATU's on the move. I know, I know, it's about to get nasty, all the snobby KGW people saying it will never happen... then make it hard for the competition!!! Seriously! Hire some decent people who actually know how to report and don't smile in live shots when they're covering some awful tragedy... make it hard for your competition. I don't think KGW's latest hires even know what reporting is.
I agree, KATU weekend mornings could be better, but everyone's rough around the edges when they first start. It's tough to slide in to someone else's chair and not be compared.
Don't knock Dunn, the best in town as far as I'm concerned. A real class act, good guy, great anchor. 'nuff said about that. If anything Barry's the one looking a little tired these days. Not to mention EVERYONE at KOIN. That's a whole 'nother post. Yikes! Talk about bad news. |

I just think after being at KATU for the last 50 years he could use a change. Thats a guy who should have jumped to a bigger market maybe national.
Tracy is money. But she has a couple of great and beautiful reasons to quit one of these days and stay at home.
Donlon and Barry are the varsity squad. When she leaves 8 is gonna hurt.
The B-team can't do the job.
I think if Tracy leaves they have got to beg Braxton to make the move to 5.
Gramer loves Porter, but if Rod gets a well deserved promotion to GM somewhere, she could be gone with him.
I can't believe these cats on the KOIN thread that say Portland isnt a news town.

When shit happens it happens in PDX. Its just that most days the shit is just, well....shit.
